open call
unmasking myths with art and writing
be part of our upcoming anthology!
Whether they're gods, deities, tricksters or demons, sometimes, the heroes we want aren’t the heroes we get. Sometimes the bad boys got their good endings, but did they deserve them?
Atelier Arcadia is calling for creatives to submit work to a collection of art and poetry/microfiction, retelling the stories of some of the baddest boys in Asian myths and lore.
Every anthology is different, but if you'd like to take a look at what we've produced in the past, do check out "Good Girls Bad Ends" and "Other Worlds," two collections of art and writing currently available online or in stores at Kinokuniya Singapore. And if you’d like to submit an idea/proposal to be considered for the anthology, click on the link here and let us know what you have in mind! (p.s. poems should not exceed 35 lines, and microfiction/short prose should not be more than 2,000 words in length.)

We plan to release this anthology in digital form, and distribute softcover copies of it via a limited print run. We require contributors to commit to submitting proposals by the August 31, 2024, to meet our publishing deadline, which is currently slated for Q1 2025.
Interim deadlines:
Proposals: August 31, 2024, 23:59 GMT+8 [Proposals will be approved by September 30, 2024]
First draft (of art/writing): November 30, 2024
Second draft (of art/writing): January 31, 2025
In some rare instances, we may request minor tweaks to the second draft anytime before February 16, 2025.
